Our amazing building was built in 2000 and this is where we usually run three sessions a week for Seniors and one for the Juniors. North Avenue Youth Centre (NAYC) is a safe place, where young people are respected and valued and can hang out with friends, make new friends and get involved in lots of different things.

We do sports, cooking, arts, pool, PacMan, games, PlayStation and anything else you can think of! We also go camping, usually in Chelmsford or Wales, and regularly run visits to places like ice-skating, Adventure Island, Kayaking, cycling… we are always looking for the next thing to do!

We also run specific youth-led projects, where young people learn about and discuss the things that are important to them. We listen and support young people to plan, organise and take action on the things that matter to them. We also hold a fortnightly session where young people are invited to be part of making decisions with us, this could be for example, how we spend money, what the expectations of youth workers and young people are or where we plan our next residential to.

Get in touch and speak to a youth worker about your ideas and what you want to see at NAYC. We welcome all young people to our centre and are always happy for new members to come along. If you ever find that you are struggling to attend sessions or trips and events because money is an issue please get in touch and we will do all we can to enable each young person to have equal opportunities.
